Handheld Conductivity Meter
The YSI 30 is a durable and accurate meter for field condutivity measurements featuring automatic temperature compensation. The LCD screen simultaneously displays conductivity or salinity, and temperature.
The YSI 30 handheld conductivity meter is a accurate and proven field instrument for measuring salinity or conductivity. A large backlit LCD display simultaneously shows temperature and either conductivity or salinity. Like all of YSI's classic handheld line, the YSI 30 features simple pushbutton user calibration, a built in chamber for probe storage, and a water resistant IP65 enclosure. Cables with built in probes are available in lengths ranging from 10 to 100 feet. The model with the 100' cable, the YSI-30M, also includes memory for storing 50 readings with a site ID.
A newer version of this instrument, the YSI Pro30, is also available.
The YSI 30 is accurate to within 0.5 % along its entire range of 0 to 200 mS/cm. Resolutions as low 0.1 µS/cm can be achieved at the lowest range. Ranges are automatically selected, but can also be manually chosen by the user. Both the temperature coefficient and reference temperature are adjustable for advanced users performing specific measurements.
Featuring a rugged, IP65 rated enclosure, the YSI 30 can be operated in steady rain without damaging the instrument. The rugged, weighted, probe requires little maintenance besides cleaning and accuracy is maintained for long periods between calibration. The YSI 30 is powered from 6 AA alkaline batteries which provide approximately 100 hours of runtime.
