Handheld DO Meter
The YSI 55 is an industry standard for measuring DO in % saturation or mg/L. Features include automatic temperature compensation, manual salinity/altitude compensation, and cable lengths up to 50 feet.
The YSI 55 is handheld, accurate, and an industry standard for field DO measurements. The large, backlit, LCD display simultaneously reads temperature and dissolved oxygen in either % saturation or mg/L. Calibration is easily performed using the built in probe storage chamber. Accuracy is increased by automatic temperature compensation and manual corrections for salinity and altitude.
YSI's new handheld DO meter, the Pro20, is the suggested replacement for the YSI 55.
The YSI 55 is accurate to within 2 % saturation or .3 mg/L with a range of 0 to 200% saturation and 0 to 20 mg/L. The housing is IP65 rated water resistant and self diagnostics are ran at each startup to confirm proper operation. The probe features a stainless steel body to add both durability and act as a weight. Rugged and field ready, the YSI 55 is availble with built in cables in lengths of 12, 25, and 50 feet, or as a detachable cable version. Power is provided by 6 AA alkaline batteries (included), which can operate the instrument for up to 100 hours.
