YSI's water level datalogger, the Level Scout, features a vented pressure transducer for automatic barometric pressure compensation, user replaceable batteries, 4 mb of memory, fast sample rate capability (up to 8 measurements per second), and a rugged titanium housing. The small diameter, 0.75", housing lets the Level Scout easily fit into 1" wells and low power consumption allows the Level Scout to operate for up to 3 years (at 15 minute sampling intervals) from 2 AA alkaline batteries. A high accuracy of 0.05 % FS is achieved by an accurate transducer, a wide temperature compensated range (14 to 104 °F), and barometric pressure compensation afforded by the unique, maintenance free, vented design.

The Level Scouts unique vented design combined with the vented field cables provide a simple and accurate solution to barometric pressure compensation. Due to the vented design barometric pressure compensation is performed real time and the requirement for seperate barometric pressure loggers and post processing the data is removed. The vented field cables have an in line vent with a unique life time vent filter design providing a maintenance free deployment. The vent line is internal to the cable removing the possibility of accidentaly crimping the vent and adversely affecting data. The vented field cables also provide communication and direct access to the Level Scout's data. Cables are available with a polyurethane jacket and stainless steel backshell, or a chemically resistant ETFE jacket and titanium backshell.

YSI's unique maintenance free vented design removes the need for seperate barometric pressure loggers and the post processing of data, without having to worry about maintaning the vent filter.

Every Level Scout comes with all 3 versions of YSI's DataScout software (DataScout Advanced, DataScout, and DataScout Mobile). The DataScout software allows communication, setup, and advanced data capabilities. Level Scout's can log pressure, temperature, and a time stamp at a programmable rate of up to 8 times per second. The logging mode is user selectable between linear, linear average, event, and logarithmic.

YSI Level Scout Ordering Instructions

Each Level Scout deployment requires a Level Scout of an appropriate depth rating from the list below and a field cable. A communication cable is required to both program and download data from Level Scout deployments. Every Level Scout includes both PC and mobile versions of the the DataScout software.

Field cables are available below in lengths ranging from 25 to 1000 ft in standard polyurethane with a stainless steel backshell, or in a chemical resistant ETFE jacket with a titanium backshell. All Level Scout cables include YSI's unique maintenance free venting system and allow communicating with the Level Scout without bringing it to the surface.

The communication cable listed below allows connection between a field cable and a PC or mobile device via either USB, RS232, or RS385. An SDI-12 converter is also available.
